At Midtown Medical we offer non-surgical, non-narcotic treatment options based on your individual needs. On your first visit, you can expect to have a thorough examination performed by a Nurse Practitioner. She will examine your problem area and then take a whole body approach. This approach helps determine any other causative factors that may be limiting the function of your body as a whole. Following the exam, X-rays will be taken in the office if needed. Then, collaboration takes place between the medical, rehab, and chiropractic teams to determine if our regenerative protocols are right for your condition.
If we feel Midtown Medical is the right place for you, we will create a customized care plan which will be reviewed with you at your next appointment. This visit is called the review of findings. During this visit, we will discuss the findings of the x-rays, the treatment plan that was determined by our team, and what portions of care your insurance will cover. If no insurance is being used, other financial options are available and the total investment will be fully transparent. If you decide to accept treatment, your care can likely begin immediately. Bracing
Utilizing knee and back bracing can be an integral part of your healing and pain relief. The bracing we supply is sized to fit you in our office. There is a misconception that you can become dependent on a back brace or that it will weaken your muscles. This is very unlikely to happen and we give you a customized plan in order to implement the brace to work the best for your particular situation. Our unloader knee braces have been shown to provide immediate pain relief when applied to a knee with degenerative arthritis.
Physiotherapy
It is important to understand that often times where the pain presents is not the area that needs to be treated. The pain may be due to that area compensating and being over-worked from another area not pulling its weight. Our rehabilitation program includes strength, flexibility and agility training as well as training focused on coordination of body parts and motion to prepare the individual to return to full participation.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.
